The American Pain Foundation is a nonprofit organization serving people with pain through information, advocacy, and support. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of people with pain by raising public awareness, providing practical information, promoting research, and advocating to remove barriers and increase access to effective pain management.

The APF serves as an information clearinghouse and resource center for people with pain, their families and caregivers, the general public, healthcare professionals, policy makers, and the media. A goal is to promote recognition of pain as a critical health issue, correcting damaging myths about pain and pain management, and seeking to remove the stigma often experienced by those with pain. AFP offers a variety of print and interactive educational materials, online chats and bulletin boards, and events of interest to all healthcare professionals and the public.
